Mission and Programs

Our mission is to improve the quality of life for people touched by ME/CFS and fibromyalgia through offering self-help classes and information on the two conditions.

Because of the professional background of our founder, we can offer programs that are based on scientifically-proven self-management principles. Since we are a non-profit staffed largely by volunteers, we offer our courses and other resources either at low cost or for free.

Self-Help Groups
We offer a suite of low-cost and free online courses for people with ME/CFS and fibromyalgia, beginning with the Introductory Self-Help course. In addition, we offer two ongoing programs for graduates of the introductory class, as well as a logging tutorial, a class for family members, and an online self-study course.

Our classes are led by trained volunteer moderators, all of whom are people with ME/CFS or fibromyalgia and graduates of our introductory course.

Library
We maintain a free library of several hundred articles, online books, sample logs and forms, and videos. Topics include basic facts about ME/CFS and FM, coping strategies, treatment options, pacing, support, and stress management. The archive also includes a set of success stories: personal accounts of successful coping and improvement.

Book
We also offer a 344-page self-help book, Managing Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia: Feel Better, Take Charge, Regain Hope. The book is available in both print and e-Book formats. For details, sample chapters and ordering information, see our store page.
